MammoSite Radiation Therapy System
The MammoSite Radiation Therapy System is a method of partial breast irradiation that works by delivering radiation from inside the breast directly to the tissue where cancer is most likely to recur. Treatment with the MammoSite system requires surgical placement of the MammoSite catheter into the lumpectomy site. Generally, treatment can be completed in 5 days. North Atlanta Radiation Oncology was one of the first groups to offer this treatment option in the Atlanta area.
